Tri-Ply Copper Cookware?

melajoh | Jan 16, 202010:49 AM     13

I'm semi-seriously considering buying a nice, high-end copper skillet. Looking at M-B, Mauviel, Falk, etc. (Love the new Falk copper core, which I found out about here, but want that lovely copper exterior.) I came across a product called "tri-ply copper," which is considerably less expensive than the "real" thing, and made by all the big name brands (Cuisinart, Calphalon, etc.), as well as a few high-end copper makers. Am I wrong in assuming that this tri-ply copper cookware is probably just copper-plated, with little or no effect on heating performance but just enough to make it a pain to maintain? Or is there a brand out there that's worth the money? Thx!
