Took my bosses & students, 9 of us, for lunch. I called ahead at 10:30 to request antipasti. Strolled over at noon & were enthusiastically greeted by chef & waiter. Bottles of S.Pelligrino w & w/o gas, limonata, etc. brought immediately, followed by beautiful, individual platters of greens w/evoo & balsamic and thinly-sliced prosciuto, salami, soppresata, mortadella and little evoo & fresh herbed drizzled fresh mozzarella balls to oohs & ahhs. 1st thought it was going to be too much, but there wasn't a scrap left by the end of the meal. Altho there were several panninis & salads on the menu, everyone ordered pasta -rigatoni w/sweet sausage, gnocchi w/tomatoes & basil, Ravioli Rose'in a sweet pink creamy sauce that the student loved, etc. I had the tagliatelli bolognese - pasta was perfectly cooked w/delicious sauce & portion too large for me to finish, but I did manage most of the meat. Clean plates for everyone else. Several of us ordered desserts with the frozen limoncello ball dusted with a crunchy bright yellow concoction & centered w/an intense gooey lemon core being the favorite. Tiramisu & a frozen dark cherry item were some of the others. Cappuchino rounded things off. Lovely Italian background music. Service was friendly & excellent. The waiter even ran a block after us to return a boss' umbrella. I went to the kitchen to shake the chef's hand & our group thanked him & our waiter. Place seats 24 & there was only 1 other party of 2 Italian guys who knew the chef. Lunch came to approx. $180 w/t&t. I will be back next month with the next rotation and am going back for dinner tomorrow night w/friends before the 7PM game. I urge you to try this little Tuscan gem.
