i had such a phenomenal meal at trattoria rustica in pittsfield (off of rt 7 near the crowne plaza). no joke it may have been one of the best meals i've ever had. service was unbelievable and the food was even better. started off with a great cauliflower soup with olive oil. i wasnt expecting much because ive never found cauliflower to be exciting, but wow. this was incredible. it was a pureed cauliflower with olive oil and herbs. fantastic. for my main course i had the whole sea bass. i've eaten a lot of sea bass, even some that i've caught myself, but this was far and away the best version i've ever had. simply prepared in their wood burning oven, a whole fish, not filleted and stuffed with herbs. it was so moist and flavorful that the only thing left was the head and tail (but not the meat in those parts!). my mom had the veal chop special which was a braised veal chop with polenta and some pasta side. she loved every bit. ended the dinner with the chocolate bomba which is chocolate and vanilla gelato encased in a hard chocolate outside. this was amazing as well even though i'm not a huge chocolate person. great meal great service. if you haven't been, i'd highly recommend it. for 2 entrees, one soup appetizer, 2 glasses of wine, 1 dessert and 2 cappucinos, it came out to $95 without tip. has anyone else been there? if you haven't definitely go!
