Traditional-Style Bistrots in Paris Dropping Off Fast

onzieme | Sep 28, 201611:18 AM

I noted earlier that Aux Bons Crus, rue des Petits-Champs in the 1st, is gone.

Today, there's a post about Au Vieux Chêne, rue Dahomey in the 11th, having closed.

Tonight, I walked by Le Marsangy, av Parmentier in the 11th, and noticed that it was shuttered.

None of these was a tourist haunt, so they're not suffering from the lack of American visitors that is putting pressure on many other restaurants. I guess Parisians just aren't that interested in going out to eat that kind of food any more.

I will miss the first two. My one experience at Le Marsangy was not good.
