Traditional Nepalese tea - where can I find it?

Nonie Hamilton | Dec 18, 2003 12:45 PM

I'm looking for traditional Nepalese tea to give as a gift. My boyfriend spent six months in Nepal and developed a taste for the tea. He brought back a large supply but it has since dwindled to only a couple of servings. He calls the tea "chia" - but I think that is just the general word for tea. It's a loose black tea that is prepared by boiling with milk and sugar. I found a website from which I could order it but I need the gift in a week and would like to find a store in Manhattan or Brooklyn. Does anyone out there know where to find it?
