Best Traditional Italian in NYC

I posted the question yesterday asking for the best italian food in the city and I received suggestions for Babbo and Crispo among others. After looking at their menus I realized that I needed to revise my request. I am looking for the best traditional italian restaurant with really good chicken and eggplant parmesan, chicken marsala and chicken sorrrentina. I would love low price, off the beaten path venues but I will pay more if it is really the best. I'm also looking for laid back places, not places to see and be seen. I live near columbia but will go anywhere in the city for good food. Let me know what you think! Thanks.
