I just visited the Trader Joe's on Lincoln last night for the first time. Its been over a year since I was living in SF and shopping at TJ's regularly, but this location seemed to have a much smaller inventory, especially of the prepared, frozen foods. The wine section takes up almost a third of the floorspace, and the produce section has a dismal selection. Is this a case of my expectations being dashed by reality? Do i remember the California TJ's as being better than they are? Or has TJ's "adapted" their offerings for Chicago? The one saving grace is that they offer Fresh Samatha juices, especially the Desperately Seeking C that i pretty much lived on in college on the east coast and that makes a great breakfast.
