Out-of-town group in NYC for the day

Hi! We're coming to NYC as part of a bus trip with various family and friends, and I suspect that myself, my friend, and my Mom will be spending the day together.

We're due to be dropped off in Times Square around 10am and have tickets to Wicked at 2pm. We leave the city from Times Square at around 6:45pm.

It's not enough time!

I want to pick up great, chewy, NYC bagels to bring home, and am leaning toward Crumbs for cupcakes. A friend in CA *loves* them and their menu makes my mouth water. I'm also intrigued by Jacques Torres Chocolates. Comments on either of these places?

My friend wants to see Little Italy, as she's of Italian descent and feels like it's required, and Chinatown, because she's never been. She's fairly adventurous about food. My Mother is not at all, and she won't eat anything "weird".

I know that we'd like to go to Ground Zero (I haven't been there since 2003 and the other two haven't been there at all) and Tiffany's (I know, we're tourists - I apologize in advance as I'm sure one of us will end up in the way of one of you on the sidewalk or subway somewhere). Everything else is rather up in the air. I believe we're going to go all the way down to Ground Zero first and then work our way back up toward mid-town.

But, food-wise, I'm looking for a lunch place, Italian or American-themed, for $30 or less per person before drinks and tip, in the Little Italy/Chinatown/Greenwich Village area, if that's feasible. I apologize - it's been a long time since I was in NYC and I was always following someone else, not leading a little group of my own!

Good place for bagels in the same general vicinity?

For dinner, is it at all feasible to get something between 5:00 when Wicked ends and catching the bus in Times Square at 6:45 on a Saturday night? Approximately the same requirements as lunch with a slightly higher price point.

I need a week in NYC, not a day - this is driving me crazy! My friend and I are IMing links back-and-forth to each other at a rapid-fire pace (I shot down her Mesa Grill suggestion thanks to you 'Hounds) and can't decide on anything for certain. Please shower me with your wisdom and knowledge.
