Best in-town fried clams

Blumie | Jul 31, 201605:06 PM     33

Going to be in town for 36 hours with a friend who has never been to Boston before. We're doing our dinners at Alden & Harlow and Sorellina (a good friend is a server there), and I want to take her for fried clams for lunch. We're staying in Cambridge and I'll be showing her around Cambridge and Boston (and Newton, where I grew up). No time to drive up to Ipswich, as much as I'd like to. Have a reservation at B&G, where I'll pay the Barbara Lynch premium but will be pretty assured of a good meal. Anyone want to suggest alternatives?
