Restaurants & Bars 1

A Tough Chinese Call

Hugh Lipton | Jul 28, 2004 04:21 PM

Many years ago I constantly frequented Lew Mitchell's Orient Express. It had decor (you might have expected to bump into Humphrey Bogart), it had a full bar, it had a good to great wine list and it had outstanding Chinese food. Lew's wife was raised in Taiwan and although she professed not to know how to cook, she did say she knew what great Chinese food should taste like, and so she hired outstanding staff.
I want to find a restaurant that approximates that and preferably in Los Angeles. My passport doesn't get me in to Orange County.
Anybody out there have any recs?
