Torung Restaurant

Thanks to a couple of Chowhound recommendations, we had a late dinner at Torung last night with another couple. We were going to try Yai because parking was easier, but they were closed at 9:45 - so we parked there and walked to Torung. My husband then walked back to the 7/11 next to Yai and bought 3 large bottles of Tsing Tao, since Torung doesn't server beer.

Food was plentiful, excellent and cheap. We especially liked the spicy noodle soup with a rich, wonderfully-flavored broth. Ginger pork was another favorite. We had the soup, 4 dishes and rice. We had ordered spicy squid, the kitchen made a mistake and sent out spicy chicken instead. The waitress felt so bad she brought us the squid and didn't charge us for either dish. Total bill for 4 - $29.00! Plus $7.70 for the 3 beers. Of course, even if we'd been charged for the squid it still would have been barely $35 - and for good food!

Thanks to everyone who recommended this spot. We don't get to Hollywood often, but will keep this one in mind.
