Tortilla Crunchies recipe

The San Diego hounds had a picnice today, and geez, am I stuffed! More on that on the California board. Anyway, I brought this munchie stuff and was asked to post the recipe on the general board. It seemed to be a hit, so try it and see how you like it:

Tortilla Crunchies

4 cups tortilla chips, broken into 1 - 2 inch pieces
3 cups Crispix cereal
1 bag of microwave buttery popcorn, popped
2 cups (or 1 12-oz. can) mixed nuts
3/4 cup light corn syrup
3/4 cup butter
3/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1 1/2 tblsp. chili powder
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper

Heat oven to 250 degrees. In a large roasting pan or two foil-covered cookie sheets, combine chips, cereal, popcorn and nuts. In a saucepan, combine remaining ingredients and heat to boiling. Pour over cereal mixture, stirring to coat. Bake one hour, stirring every 15-20 minutes. Remove from oven and turn onto wax paper to cool. Store in an airtight container.
