Toronto Hound seeks info on S.F's BYOW policy

Hi everyone out west,

There seems to be a raging debate on the Toronto board about a new law permitting patrons to bring their own wine to restaurants and take home unfinished bottles. Several Toronto restaurants have proposed ridiculous corkage fees, and I just wanted some info as to how the process works in San Fran.
