Toro... a review

Wonderful evening! Five of us had a great time. Some of the aps were crab cakes with gazpacho on frisse topped with a wasabi mayo,a panko crusted wedge of brie with tart apples and a creamy dijon sauce, a take on a caprese salad and a caesar salad. All were $7(except for the brie at $10) each!!! And there were TWO crab cakes per portion. Absolutely delicious. The mains were a rack of lamb with mashed potatoes, roasted root veg and braised endive with some kind of wine/jus reduction, a striploin /frites with aioli and truffle butter, a grilled salmon plated with green beans and a chicken breast with pancetta/spinach stuffing. Sorry I can't provide more details but I was too busy snarfing down my lamb and some lovely cab (2003 Oak Vineyards..$24) to pay much attention to their plates. Desserts were a creme brulee and a ricotta chessecake with strawberries. Coffee was served in a Bodum . Service was very friendly and accomodating(a nice and unexpected bonus). The bill with generous tip came to $265. After it was paid and we continued lingering, we received some triangles of brownies as a "little nibble". Nice for us that this is a neighbourhood haunt and we live SOOO close. It was delightful.
