Torino restaurants/bars

I'll be traveling from Los Angeles to Torino for a few days during the Olympics and would love recommendations for restaurants throughout the city.

I'm traveling with some of the American athletes and their families, so we will probably be traveling fairly casually. Also, because we will be attending events, particularly in the evening, we are looking for places that we can go without reservations. We may have time for one nice, extended lunch. We're staying on Via Garibaldi near Via Venti Settembre, but will often be in the Lingotto.

I welcome any other suggestions regarding things a true 'hound must see/do/try in Torino.

Also, I am looking for a recommendation for a bar/pub near Via Garibaldi that I can go to on a Friday night to have a few drinks, some food, and watch the competition from that night on television. A friend is competing that night, but I will probably not arrive in the city in enought time to go to his event. I don't know if there is such a thing as an Italian sports bar, but since I will probably be exhausted after nearly 24 hours of travel, I just want to find a place where I can watch him compete in a relaxed setting.

Want to stay up to date with this post?
