toqué

Dinner tonight at Toqué was quite marvelous. There's something to be said for pure elegance. And I was impressed by the spaciousness of the place. It's a good feeling when one's table is apart from others. I had the lobster salad and the guinea hen, both prepared beautifully and well presented. The oyster amuse bouche was delicious and kind of funny. My male guest had the scallops, briny and crisp. We had four local cheeses, all delicious. And I shared the warm raspberry chocolate cake with my female guest. They ordered several different wines, which I went light on. Toqué is more than OK.

The wait staff is pissed over the slurring references they received in the Times review.

I still didn't spot M. Dion. I hope he's not lost in the prairies.

Montreal, with New Orleans, are the two best eating places in North America. My orgy comes to an end tomorrow night. Mais je reviens très vite, on espére.
