Top food for anniversary - not formal

We are looking for a place to celebrate our 25th anniversary, but don't want to go someplace overly formal(my husband would rather not wear a suit - although he won't wear jeans - and i'd prefer to wear a longish skirt & sweater/jacket rather than a cocktail dress). We'd like top food (we're real foodies) and a quiet, friendly, warm, intimate atmosphere. Candles, flowers, soft music. But atmosphere comes 2nd to food. Preference would be french or continental or new american, maybe italian (if emphasis is not on pasta) - could have an asian influence - but not an actual japanese, chinese or indian restaurant. Any ideas? Thanks.
