Just north of I-10 on hwy 36 Tony's is a great find. Think great taste and value at low price. Some rough edges (wine served in thick water glasses, one with chipped rim) do not detract from a place that takes its task of providing quality diner food at fair price seriously. I had a flavorful T-Bone and their signature Chicken fried steak is really well done. Whereas most places offer you a choice of two they trump with three vegetables. All seems scratch made.
Now Hinze's BBQ close by did not score so well in my book. And Cazadores Mexican (all at the same I-10 exit) while quite nice does not leap out in the freshness and flavor dept like (say) Guanajuato I reported in Rosenberg Tx. Nice but not a knockout.
You won't leave Tony's hungry or with empty wallet. Good place.
