Tony Luke’s Cheesesteaks coming to midtown

just spotted this on Andrea Strong's website ( - about half way down the page):

"Those of you who love authentic Philly Cheesesteaks will soon have a reason to celebrate. On December 8th, Tony Luke’s Old Philly Style Sandwiches will open at 576 9th Avenue (b/w 41st and 42nd Sts.), 212-967-3055. This Philadelphia institution is moving north thanks to owner and cheeseteak-groupie Evan Stein, a 33-year old restaurateur born from the Internet bust. (Well, boom, really. He sold his business, to Evan, who grew up chowing down on Tony Luke’s, is getting all his ingredients from their Philadelphia commissary, including the bread, which will be par-baked and shipped up to the store to be baked fresh daily. The only difference in the sandwich should be geography, not taste."

i work a couple blocks away, yay! Love Woogies and Carl's. never had Tony Luke's - can't wait to try!!
