Tomato Dumplings/Xinjiang Style Food in Temple City?

Chandavkl | Aug 26, 2005 04:11 PM

Just stopped off at a new restaurant named Surprise Chinese Restaurant at 4815 N. El Monte Ave. in Temple City. The menu items that caught my eye were tomato dumplings, a few dishes being described as "Xin Jiang style" and a number of lamb dishes. Strangely there are also a number of dishes labelled as being Szechwan style. My presumption is that this is a Xinjiang style restaurant, but I'd be interested to see if anybody would confirm this. I had the tomato dumplings, which turned out to have a mixture of tomatoes and scrambled eggs. At $3.98 for 10 dumplings, it made a filling lunch.
