ello dear fellow foodies,
This board has been really helpful in designing my itinerary for Tokyo. I'll be there for 1 week, staying at the Ritz. As a reference point, we really enjoyed Fujiya 1835 in Osaka last time and found Abysse, while nice, not particularly memorable. Sushi- last time were too late to the game to make "good" reservations, so were underwhelmed with our choices.
Dinner - Namikibashi Nakamura
It was suggested to me to choose a set menu (7K yen) - considering we don't speak/read Japanese, is that a good option? We will be tired after a very long flight
Day 2 (Saturday)
Lunch - Sushi Ruysuki (really looking forward!)
Dinner - Le Sputnik. Debating on this one - seems like I'll have quite a bit of French restaurants on this trip.
Day 3 (Sunday)
Lunch - no plans
Dinner - Le Simplicite
Dinner - Ode
Dinner - Tempura Motoyoshi. 6pm reservation which is on the earlier side, but that's all they had available that week.
Dinner - Jyuban Ukyo Ebisu. Travelling to Kyoto and back that day (work) so looking for something casual.
Dinner - Ristorante Hamasaki=12px. Was looking for some stellar Italian - is that a good choice? I don't necessarily need a tasting menu, would just love to have a stellar dinner with Japanese influences.
Overall, I think I am missing tonkatsu on this trip and would strongly lean towards a place that takes reservations.
I would also like input on:
- high quality bars - visited Mixology last time and really enjoyed their selection of whiskies and overall level of cocktails.
- jazz bars/live music - something that we have a chance of getting into after a nice dinner on a saturday/sunday night.
Thank you !!!!!
