TOKYO FOOD CRAWL - DAY 3 (2nd Part) Sushi Omakase Dinner at the Michelin star "Sushiya" (6 weeks advance reservation)

Well folks! This is it! One of the most looked-forward meal of our trip.... a high-end sushi meal at a Michelin star restaurant.

Currently, the top ranking Tokyo Sushi restaurant, according to tabelog and other restaurant rating authorities is the ' impossible to book' Sushi Saito. For non-regulars and without connection, the wait time could easily be 6 months or more, for a counter seat serve by the master himself. So, in our case, we decided to opt for a second best...Saito's disciple, Takao Ishyama's one star restaurant - Sushiya.

Once again, heading to Ginza in search of the restaurant was another ' Indiana Jones ' like adventure in itself. Hidden in a secluded narrow alley with air-conditioning unit protruding from both sides, the restaurant is a 8 seat sushi bar arranged around a nicely polished wooden counter. The space was cozy, quaint and brightly lite.

The chef offered a lengthy Omakase course consisted of 7 interesting, varied and unusual Otsumami ( appetizers ) followed by 13, very fresh, Nigiri Sushi. Ingredients for the Nata and appertizers were of very high quality and very generous. The Shari was perfectly seasoned to my liking. The meal was nicely paced, taking around 2 hours and with the English speaking Ishyama san giving us a running commentary along the way.

At the end of our 'S'ushi meal at 'S'ushiya, there were 3 'S'uitable 'S' words to describe our experience - 'S'miling, 'S'atisfied and 'S'tuffed!!!

Photos will be posted in two segments due to Chowhound 10 photos maximum restriction!
