Tocqueville Lunch

Just had a nice lunch at Tocqueville....first time eating there after passing by it a million or so times.

For anyone that goes, I highly recommend the west coast sea urchin angel hair pasta carbonara appetizer....rich, creamy, sea salty, mmmm. But it can get a little heavy.

That's why i had the the tuna nicoise salad for my main. I know, boring choice, but it was damn good. Tuna cooked perfectly rare, nice swirls of olive tapenade on the plate and a delicious quenelle of preserved tomato. hit the spot.

I thought the wine was a little pricey though. My Austrian dining companions and I had a great $32 bottle of Riesling....but $75/$85 for bottles of Gruner Veltliner?? Laughable....the sommelier should be able to do MUCH better than that.

they had an interesting Swiss Gamay by the glass for $9, but didn't try it.

anyone ever been to dinner there and have any favorites? I'd for sure like to check it out.
