Toasties - Inner Sunset on Irving

Intriguing little new (I think) place adding some new food to this great neighborhood. Went there to kill some time and some hunger cravings with sandwiches before the Final Four games. Their self-proclaimed special is the "Crab Melt" sandwich. Neither H nor I got this one, so no comments on those. What we DID get were 1) chicken sub and 2) meatball sub.

1) Chicken - Reminiscent of the sandwich I got from the poulet truck on the "mainland" in Bora Bora. Mayo, veggies, roasted chicken leg meat, succulent and delicious.

2) Meatball sub - good sized meatballs, delicious flavor, if not a little bland. Nice chunky tomato sauce, also could use some beefing up, but nice compliment to the meatballs.

Bread - clearly fresh baked, or something, hard roll, but not TOO hard. Nice toothsome bite to it. They both went through a conveyor toaster to heat up all the ingredients.

I thought both of these sandwiches were very tasty, and a nice alternative to Yellow Sub, which I have not been a huge fan of the few times I have gone.

Hope this new info helps a 'hound.

Cheers!

JB
