I just bought my very first bottle of truffle oil.
TJ's $8.99 - seemed a bargain since truffles are often described as being the most valuable substance short of diamonds. They had black and white, and I got the black having seen it more often in documentaries about truffle hunting pigs, and that sort of thing. But I've never tasted truffle before, let alone used it in cooking.
1) HOW do you use it, what foods does it enhance, what recipes feature it?
2) I read in a recent post that actually, white truffle oil is the preferred item. True? Why?
