"Tip Guide" on your bill?

Gypsy Boy | Jun 27, 2003 08:15 AM

Just got a call from the girlfriend in LA. She had lunch in Anaheim yesterday and was startled to discover at the bottom of the bill the following: "Tip Guide for $28.40 [the amount of her bill for two folks] 15%=$4.25, 18%=$5.10, 20%=5.70" We both had the same reaction: for people who are seriously mathematically challenged, probably handy. For the rest of us, presumptuous. Really.
She said it was a nice place but nothing extraordinary--the price of the lunch would seem to confirm that.
In any event, neither she nor I have ever seen anything like this before. Have you? Is it a new trend? Has it reached Chicago? Heavens forfend!
