Oh well, time to prepare again for the November pilgrimage to Umbria. But what about Vissani?

Of course La Bastiglia in Spello.
Il Tartufo in Spoleto. And Il Tempio del Gusto.

Bridgehead this time is Perugia; we'll figure something out.

However, the BIG question mark is Vissani. All official ratings are highly laudatory. Michelin gives him 2 stars. Il Ristoranti di Bibenda says "Non c'è dubbio: ci troviamo di fronte al più grande ristorante italiano, e se c'è chi ancora non è d'accordo forse è perché non c'è mai stato." [ No doubt about: this is the best Italian restaurant, and if anybody disagrees it's because they've never been ]. Well, Gayot says 'No Rating", although they write "Gianfranco Vissani is one of Italy's most revered chefs, and his restaurant lives up to the reputation", which is pretty heavy. On the other hand, I haven't been able to find a single user posting that is not absolutely negative. Suffice to mention this local posting (true, from 10 years ago...):

Hard for me to suggest a Vissani outing to my group in view of all of the above.
Any recent input anybody?
