first time pizzaiolo

Inspired by yesterday's review, my husband and I made the trek to Oakland from our Solano Ave. neighborhood to try it out. We are die hard cheeseboard and Lo Coco's fans for our pizza, but we were impressed. We got there around 6:30 and sat down immediately at the bar. We ordered the sparkling rose and a white burgundy ($10/glass seemed a lot but...) and then got into the menu. My husband ordered the beet and avocado salad and proclaimed it a great mix of flavors. We then ordered the Margherita with buffalo mozz. and the arugula and prosciutto pizzas and the sweet corn polenta. It was all quite good. The crust was crispy, even with the relative wetness on the buffalo pizza. There was a bit of spice in both. The service was attentive. We had plenty left over to take home, but we had wanted to try several things during our first trip, so that was ok. Bill was about $90 which was a little high I thought. Overall, it was good, but I wouldn't make the trek again. I would go back if I happened to be in that neighborhood already.
