I am hoping those of you that have been there, done that are able to assist. I've been researching restaurants and am trying to figure out an itinerary that makes sense for various site seeing where I can eat near wherever we end up. We will be staying at the Four Seasons Marunouchi in Tokyo and Yoshikawa Inn in Kyoto. We do not speak Japanese and will be hiring a guide to help us get around at least the first 1/2 day.
We want to have great culinary experiences but also don't want to waste too much time standing in lines for food when we want to be out exploring the city.
We land at 2pm April 1 and our flight departs 5pm April 10.
Tokyo: April 1, 2, 3
Hakone: April 4
Kyoto: April 5, 6, 7, 8,
Tokyo: April 9, 10
My son loves miso ramen, shabu shabu, tempura and we want to have kobe beef while there and sushi. He doesn't really eat sushi but we/he will just have to make do!
I am looking to book Sushi Sawada.
I've seen good reviews for Kurosawa. I see there is a Teppanyaki Kurosawa as well as Nagatacho Kurosawa. Both frankly sound fantastic with different cuisine in different neighborhoods so maybe we will try both?
I thought we could try Depachika Isetan or the one at Mitsukoshi’s Ginza Ryugin. Are there tables/places to eat at the department stores?
I'm having a hard time figuring out an itinerary with site seeing and then timing reservations in whatever area we may be. We are going to do a day trip to Kamakura as well.
In Tokyo we plan to see:
Asakusa, Senso-ji, Ueno Park, Akihabara,Tokyo National Museum, Sumida Park
Hamarikyu Gardens, Tsukiji fish market, Imperial Palace, Ginza area, Tokyo Tower, Yasukuni Shrine
Meiji Shrine Garden, Harajuku ,Ota Memorial Museum Harajuku, Shinjuku Gyoen, Shibuya Crossing and Shinjuku area.
Any advice is much appreciated!
