Hi, my girlfriend and I are heading off to Hong Kong right after Christmas and are looking for some HK food suggestions.
We'd love to exprience both haute cuisine Cantonese as well as explore much of the street food and stalls, and everything in between. We got a few recommendations such as Celestial Court, Lin Heung Lau, and The Peninsula's Cantonese... They sound great.
We both eat pretty much anything and while we love going to expensive restaurants, what excites us most are when we find amazingly good food for extraordinarily cheap.
Are there certain steets or neighborhoods that are known for their food? Certain hawker stalls/street vendors we should visit?
Also, Travel & Leisure had an article on Da Ping Ho, a small, "underground", Sichuan restaurant. Has anyone eaten here?
Thanks much Chowhounds!
