tianjin specialty restaurant

last thursday i checked out this tianjin restaurant. actually i meant to go to the taiwanese place but got confused because they moved and just ate here instead since i was already seated. it was pretty good so i couldnt complain.

i should have known immediately because of their northern accents. oh well.

i dont remember the english name but its in the corner of the mini mall on the south side of the new fancy strip mall. its on valley west of san gabriel. two doors down from lu's garden and the other best szechuan.

chinese name is "tian jin xiao guan"

we had tianjin pork dumplings (6). sort of like a steamed cross between san jian bao and xlb. the fried vegetable roll was tasty "su cai juan". we had a hui guo rou (twice cooked pork) which was so so (pork belly, leeks, cabbage, red peppers with chili sauce) we also had a vegetable appetizer i cant think of right now.

the whole bill came to only 17 dollars.
