My son has just transferred to SUNY Maritime College which is located underneath the Throggs Neck Bridge. We visited the campus on Sunday when we dropped the boy off for his two week "indoctrination" (I am told not to call it boot camp even though it seems to me like it's boot camp).
I expect we will make the trip from CT to the campus on a periodic basis and was wondering what our chowish possibilities might be. My only familiarity with the Bronx is Arthur Avenue, which, according to my map is quite a distance away from the college, although still doable. The immediate Throggs Neck vicinity doesn't look promising at initial blush... Does anyone have any suggestions about good places that are a reasonable jaunt away?
Thanks in advance,
