I had dinner with some friends at Pasha on Gloucester Road the other night. I still haven't decided what to make of the whole experience. The ambiance was lovely but the service was appalling; we waited 45 minutes for our main courses after the remnants of the starters (mixed mezze - fairly good but not nearly enough bread)had been cleared away. After dinner no one bothered to ask us if we were interested in dessert, we had to flag down the wait-staff twice. I think we'd still be sitting there now if we hadn't asked two separate members of staff for the bill.
The food wasn't bad, but wasn't as good as I had expected. My pheasant bastilla was over peppered (I didn't know black pepper was a Moroccan ingredient). One of my friends had the seared tuna in sesame seeds -which was quite tender and flavourful. The fresh mint tea was nicely presented and not over-powering which is often the case with fresh mint teas. I was a bit disappointed by the baklava (spelling?) we had for dessert - roughly 4 tiny pieces on an over-sized plate.
What have other people's experiences been?
