I wanted to post here to find out if anyone else had been to Cadence, the restaurant at the Kimmel Center.
My husband and I had dinner there last weekend for the second time, as we had concert tickets and needed a quick and easy dinner before our show.
The restaurant is beautiful and the weather was nice enough that we got to eat outside on the patio overlooking Broad Street with views of South Philly and City Hall. That was lovely.
The food also was very good--I started with an endive salad and my husband had an excellent salad w/Bibb lettuce, apples, and roquefort. My entree also was delicious--5 large and juicy scallops over a pile of edamame with a tangy, citrusy sauce. Desserts are wonderful, and we shared the "chocolate cadence," which included a brownie, chocolate sorbet, and a mini pot de creme. MMMMM.
The ONLY problem is that I find Cadence expensive, especially when there is so much equally elegant food available in Philly for less. The bill for our meal (including tip) was $116, and that was without drinks! When there are places like Matyson, Rx, and so many others, where you can have a creative, excellent meal for 2 people and spend $70-80, it makes me less likely to go to Cadence repeatedly.
Maybe they have to hike up their prices to stay open at Kimmel--I don't know whether they get much non-concert-going business.
