This is a challenge for you to think outside the bun.
A motorcycle club that I belong to holds a popular weekly event from spring through fall called the Monday Night Hot Dog Ride. A schedule of locations is posted on the clubs website, and members get on their bikes and ride to the evenings designated location for dinner. Destinations have been in Cook, Lake, Du Page, Kane and Will counties, reflecting the geographic spread of our membership.
I wondered if Chowhounders could suggest some good hot dog places for our 2004 rides. Here are a few criteria/requirements.
Food: The ride and the fellowship are somewhat higher priorities than the quality of the chow, but if the food is really bad, people will yell at the Hot Dog Ride chairman, maybe pelt him with buns.
A parking lot. Ten to fifteen bikes usually show up, so street parking is impractical, especially in congested areas.
A Rest Room. After lingering over large cokes, most of us seriously need a pit stop before mounting a motorcycle for an hour(s)-long ride home.
An interesting location is a plus, and so is an interesting route to and from.
Check our website for activities of interest to actual and potential BMW bikers and the biker-friendly.
