After enjoying a decently executed ' Gone Chau Ngau Ho aka Stirred fry Ho Fun rice noodle with beef ' a few weeks back, I returned to ' The Six Cafe & Restaurant ' ( 8920 Woodbine Avenue, Unit 101, Markham ) for dinner tonight with my son.
Food execution was better than lunch time. A smallish, compact menu focusing on house specialty dishes was offered. Mid-range pricing.
Tons of aromatic and smokey Wok-Hay to the 'Stirred fry beef and Gai Lan' dish we ordered. Very tasty, deep and complex taste profile albeit the chef was a bit ' heavy handed ' in seasoning....hence a touch salty in my opinion. The finger-licking-good crispy ' Fried Chinese Olive Tapenade and Pomegranate glaze' was a touch too sweet but addictively delicious
Overall, a pretty enjoyable meal
However, our waitress ( the short, chubby one ) must be the grouchiest server I have ever encountered, though the rest of her colleagues were very friendly and helpful! Good luck if you get her!
