I'm hosting Thanksgiving this year for the second time ever and I want to make a dessert that's not too heavy. A friend suggested a fruit compote served with ice cream instead of traditional pies but I'm torn. I'm not a big pumpkin pie fan, but I thought perhaps an apple pie or a cranberry and pear crisp would be better (We will be a total of six or seven people, so maybe two desserts? Perhaps pumpkin pie and something else?). Please share your past successes and assorted ideas on this topic. Thank you!
