Thai, Vietnamese, and Chinese on Argyle

bluey | Jan 25, 200304:01 PM

This might be a little premature, but I've just taken a stroll down Argyle on the north side (just get off at Argyle on the red line and you're there). There are dozens of pleasantly rinky-dink Thai, Vietnamese, and a couple Chinese restaurants along this street, and also on one block of Sheridan.
I ate at a family-run (as i'm sure they all are) vietnamese restaurant whose name escapes me, probably because i don't speak the language. They had 20 excellent flavors of "bubble tea," a fruit flavored drink (not really tea, depending on the flavor it's either a milk-based smoothie or a water based juice drink) that has large tapioca balls in the bottom, sucked up with an extra thick straw.
The markets are well stocked with all your asian culinary supplies, and at very reasonable prices.
In a couple weeks, i'll have gone back there a few more times and i promise i'll remember the names of the restaurants i eat in. Until then, i recommend anyone who wants to explore good asian markets or asian restaurants to take a stroll down argyle sometime.
