we had a very good meal at the brand new thai restaurant next to a dong on new britain ave, at former site of "dim sum". for $50 we had a feast for 4. som tom was excellent but quite spicy (we asked for it spicy and it was right on the borderline of being too hot to eat). yum nur was tasty, the sauce of lime juice/palm sugar/fish sauce/mint/lemongrass/shallot was just right but the beef was stir-fried rather than grilled. pad kee mow noodles were delicious; so was tom yum goong, obviously freshly made, w/strong herbal flavor, laced w/slivers of kaffir lime leaf; and so were fresh rolls w/shrimp. lard na noodles were pleasant, sweet w/dark soy sauce, but not too exciting. the only bummer was wonton soup(my kids insisted on ordering)which was overpowered by flavor of fried garlic.
this is a promising new restaurant which deserves our support.
