Thai Kitchen in Cambridge

I don't think I've seen this small, fast-foodish Thai restaurant discussed here or on the gourmet board (except by me).

Thai Kitchen is located at 2261 Massachusetts Ave in Cambridge, between Porter Square and the Arlington line.

To me, they're the best lunch value. For $5.25 you get hot & sour soup, a lunch dish with either 2 crab rangoons, 1 chicken satay, 1 chicken wing, or 1 vegetable spring roll. After lunch you are usually brought some fresh fruit or ice cream for desert. All this for $5.25. The dinner special costs just a dollar more.

It's not completely authentic Thai food, as the owners are originally from Taiwan, but I like their fresh vegetables and the flavors of their sauces. My favorite dishes are Crazy Noodle, Beef Macadamia, and all four curries (green, red, massaman, and yellow). Last night I got Mango Massaman (no meat). The flavor was great but I'm not sure how I felt about eating warm mango. The softer pieces were a little strange to chew and swallow but the firmer pieces were nice. Their pad thai isn't great but they do have the best crispy scallion pancakes and ginger sauce.
