I always drove into New Haven for Thai food when the urge struck. We limit our dining out to Friday or Saturday evenings, so parking was usually a problem (especially on Fridays) at our old usual Thai place on Chapel St. Also, it is a lot easier to deal with New Haven parking when Yale is not in session, so wed usually go on long weekends, winter or summer break. That is, until I found Thai House!
Thai House is located on the Post Road (Rt. 1) in Orange across from Loehmans Plaza (where China Pavillion is) in the location of the old Captains Galley. They have excellent curries, particularly the Chang Mai Curry and Mangoes Curry, and I am in love with their Drunken Noodle dish. They also have many vegetarian options, are open for lunch and do take-out as well. The meals are very reasonably priced and the staff there is very attentive and very pleasant. The only dish I had ever had there that I didnt care for was their Pad Thai. I have had better Pad Thai elsewhere, but that aside, everything else we have tried (and thats a lot) has been very good.
