Intrigue by the recent postings by Dougk of Thai Homemade, my friends and I tried it out yesterday nite.
Owned by the same people behind Siam Noodle, we expected a great authentic meal. We also discovered that the chef was the former chef at Super Chef. He was the "good" chef there back in the day. In summation, all our high expectations were met.
As expected, the Isaan offerings were all on point. The fried chicken was actually better than the one at SN. It was perfectly seasoned. One notable dish was the Tom Yum Poh Taak. It is a clear tom yum broth soup with shrimp and scallops. Delicious. I haven't seen this dish offered anywhere else.
From the credentials only, this place gets my embrace. And demonstrated by our meal last night, this new addition clearly belongs amongst the top tier Thai restaurants. Only drawback is its relative location to me. But, the drive is worth it.
Don't we have great Thai food in this city or what??
