New Thai in Hillsborough

JB | Nov 6, 2005 05:23 PM

Besides Thai Kitchen III, there is now another good Thai place in Hillsborough. Last night, I tried the relatively new Thai Garden restaurant, and I thought that it was promising. If you are driving South on Rt. 206, it is on the right side of the road, just before you get to the intersection with Amwell Road. It is in the same strip mall as the Hillsborough Pharmacy.

I tried their "Crispy Scallops" and their Roast Pork Fried Rice, and thought that both were good. Although Thai Kitchen is my favorite in the area, a few months ago, I tried Sukothai in Raritan. Besides having both water and a sauce spilled on me at Sukothai, I thought that Sukothai's food was not as good as at any of the Thai Kitchen locations. Although I have only sampled a little bit of the fare at the new Thai Garden, I thought that it was better than Sukothai, and I will definitely be going back to try some other dishes, and see how it really stacks up against Thai Kitchen.

Incidentally, at this point, Thai Garden needs some additional business, as it seems that people have been slow to discover this new place. Give it a try, and hopefully they can stay in business!
