Went to Q Thai last night (which, incidentally, was so packed on New Year's that I wasn't able to get in). Naturally, I wanted to see what the fuss was about.
While the food was very good without the unappetizing oiliness of Fah Thai, I felt that it was overpriced.
Pad thai was $16 and yummy, not overly sweet the way it can sometimes be...plenty of jumbo shrimp too.
Broiled salmon ($20) with mixed vegetables was a rather small piece of salmon in a truly delicious lemongrass and coconut milk sauce with basil, green beans and peppers. It came with a side of jasmine rice, interestingly presented in a bamboo basket.
Passionfruit mousse was pretty good too (at $6).
My friends were trying to save money so we didn't order any of the wine selection.
I think next time we want yuppie Thai we'll go into the city.
