Thai American Burger: another endorsement

Key Lime Guy | Jun 23, 2002 12:49 AM

Enjoyed an afternoon lunch at the much-touted Thai American (2903 Rowena in Silverlake).

Chow-friend, on my insistence, ordered the burger platter, which looked great. Thick patty, 2 cheeses, sauteed mushrooms, bacon, sauteed onions?, toasted bun. Golden hand-cut fries. Thai salad. C-f's verdict: excellent (but did not trump Jake's, Pasadena, as LA's best burger).

Me? After two weeks in Jamba/Robek's/Juice-it-Up prison, I splurged and ordered brown rice and steamed broccoli and a Singha. Mmmmm.

Bonus: fine hole-in-the-wall decor (I'm a connoisseur) including indoor umbrellas and a truly bizarre aquarium full of liquor bottles, promptly dubbed the liquarium.
