Went to the new "Texas Steak Subs," joint on the north side of 14 Mile between John R and Dequindre (1175 E 14 Mile, Troy). A pretty slow and dreary (yet friendly) Chaldean place, but maybe they'll pick up momentum? Anyway, I've only been to Philly once, so I'm not an expert in cheese steak cuisine, but I can say that the bun was very good and the steak had no real flaws. And, it traveled for an hour, to boot. I liked this one better than the others I've had around town, for what that is worth. $6.99 for a 12 incher. I'll certainly be back, even if not soon. Just hope they'll still be there.

PS- there is a $3 off coupon in some of the local papers like Troy Times.
