tried austin's in eagle lake today.
somehow, i cannot figure out how the monthly raved about the ribs and the sauce.
ribs are quite pedestrian. with no meat.
and the sauce, no fire. appears to be and tastes as if watered ketchup.
oddly enough, two days ago i tried a rack of ribs at a willie g's at jones road and 290. far superior.
i am on a bbq appraisal at the moment. tried the brisket at tex's in brenham 2 weeks ago. monthly didn't mention it, but some other critic[troxell, BARBECUEING AROUND TEXAS] gave it raves.
brisket tastes like a beef pudding. mushy. and the sauce that troxell high-fives ... you can do better.
where is the good que?
