Texas fried chicken and gyro, Ossining

vinouspleasure | Sep 29, 201801:03 PM

Recently opened in a strip mall on the west side of route 9 a little south of delita's deli. Ordered two pieces of fried chicken, they'd been sitting under a heat lamp, served lukewarm. The chicken was moist, not greasy with light breading infused with a spice profile that sits somewhere between the south and Pakistan. On end, the chicken wasn't crispy enough and I didn't care for the spicing.

otoh, the place was really busy, a lot of people were ordering chicken or lamb gyro, others were getting large (10+ pieces) of chicken fried to order. That chicken looked pretty good, I'd guess chicken right out of the fryer tasted a lot better than what I was served. Very inexpensive, 2 small chicken breasts ran $3(!)

At some point, I'll return to try the gyro.
