A friend wanted to go here last Friday night...I had only been once before, soon after it opened, around 6pm and sat at bar...recall have a nice, if not memorable, meal.
We arrirved around 8pm, to a packed house. They were able to seat us at the communal table, which was empty except for us. Restaurant is very dark, and the loudest I've ever been in...even worse than Bottega Louie. I could only understand 1 of 10 words my friend was saying, even though he was less than 3 feet away. And my ears were nearly ringing afterwords.
As for the food: the bread was decent, but cold. The beef carpaccio was fairly standard, but a TINY portion. Our two pastas were both solid and nice portions. The tiramisu for desert was nice, if small. Espresso excellent. Wine by glass overpriced and small pours.
Service was friendly and fairly attentive.
Apparently, people like dining in really loud restaurants these days. I'm not sure when or how that trend started...maybe it doesn't matter anymore because everyone is just staring at their phone all meal long anyway :)
