Would like to do a tenderloin this weekend...advice about...

I would like to sear a tenderloin on top of the stove and then finish it off in the oven. I have not done this before. I usually just grill it outside. How do I go about it and what kind of sauce can we make for it? I was thinking of a bernaise sauce to finish it off. Also, any hints for veggies to go along with this? Thanks, Richie
